The Ram 1500 TRX was loaded with all the off-roading power to put it at the top of the high-performance truck food chain.
Ram debuted the 1500 TRX in 2021 as an answer to the high-performance Ford F-150 Raptor. Taking one look under the hood of the TRX tells you it means business. This apex predator is full of enough torque and horsepower to rip through tough terrain at breakneck speed.
With a 6.2-liter Hemi V8 Hellcat engine and an 8-speed automatic transmission, the TRX has the bite to match its bark. Boasting 702 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft of torque, the TRX is built to hit high speeds while traveling on any surface. Going from 0-60 mph in 4.5-seconds, this truck is the perfect combination of speed and power.
All that power under the hood won’t do any good in the sand and dirt without excellent traction. There are no shortcuts taken with the construction of the TRX, so you know the tires are up to the challenge. The TRX features 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires that give you traction in loose sand and dirt while also being smooth on the pavement.
The tires on the TRX are also beadlock-capable, so you can be assured the tire is secure on the wheel when riding at reduced air pressure. Before off-roading, it’s important to reduce air pressure in your tires to improve grip and reduce the risk of popping your tire on a sharp rock. While the reduced air pressure helps performance, it can make your tire more likely to slip off the wheel.
Nothing can stand in the way of this monstrous 4-wheel drive truck. With 11.8 inches of ground clearance, the TRX is ready to tackle the hardest obstacles on the trail. The 30-degree approach angle and 23.5 departure angle allow the TRX to climb up steep hillsides with ease.
Off-roading isn’t for the weak. Good thing the TRX is as tough as they come. With five skid plates protecting the underside of the truck and a sturdy frame, the TRX is ready to push the limits.
As the TRX flies through the sand, dirt and rocks, the Bilstein Black Hawk e2 shock system keeps you in control. With 13 inches of front suspension travel and 14 inches of rear travel, this truck can go anywhere. Whether you’re travelling over steep hillsides or a speedbump, the TRX can’t be slowed down.
Nothing about the design of the TRX is tame. With LED lighting in the hood scoop and wide fenders, the TRX is sure to turn some heads whether you’re on the trails or driving around town.
Ram spared no expense when designing the TRX and that includes the luxurious interior. The spacious crew cab has all the comforts you would expect from a Ram 1500. A 12-inch touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.
The TRX was designed for off-road performance, but this truck can also carry and haul heavy loads. Whether you’re towing your boat or hauling heavy yard waste, the TRX has you covered. The 2022 TRX has a maximum towing capacity of 8,100 lbs. and a payload of 1,310 lbs.
Good luck finding something this high-performance truck can’t do.
