The Chevy Silverado 3500 is a truck designed for tackling the hardest jobs and pulling the heaviest loads.
These one-ton trucks are capable of towing just about anything you can imagine. With almost double the max available trailering of the Silverado 2500, these trucks are towing machines. The 2022 Silverado 3500 can pull a maximum towing capacity of 36,000 lbs. When you combine the 910 lb.-ft of torque from the Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel V8 engine with dual rear wheels, you’d be hard-pressed to find a trailer it couldn’t pull with ease.
The Silverado 3500 HD was created with towing heavy loads in mind. These dynamic trucks first hit the roads in 2001 as the third addition to the Silverado series that began in 1999. The one-ton 3500 joined the smaller half-ton 1500 and the three-quarter-ton 2500. Silverado took its name from the top-of-the line trim in the C/K series of trucks.
That reputation of quality and durability was brought over into the first generations of Silverado trucks. The 3500 has gone through plenty of changes and improvements since then, but these rigs have continued to be the epidemy of tough and hard-working trucks.
Now in its fourth generation, the 2022 Silverado 3500 HD comes with either a diesel or gasoline-powered engine. The 6.6L V8 gas engine offers 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-feet of torque. If you’re looking to take advantage of all the towing capabilities the 3500 has to offer, the diesel engine is the obvious choice. With 445 horsepower and 910 lb.-ft of torque, the Duramax 6.6L Turbo-Diesel with a 10-speed Allison automatic transmission is one tough rig!
These one-ton trucks are all about hard work. With a bed length up to 8-feet long, there is plenty of cargo space in the Silverado 3500 HD. The tough Durabed truck bed also offers plenty of tie-downs, 120-volt outlet, LED lighting and the versatile Multi-Flex Tailgate.
Just because the truck is tough and rugged on the outside, doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice any comfort inside. With its best-in-class front head and leg room, you can relax inside the luxurious cabin of the Silverado 3500 HD.
