Why are there multiple credit inquiries on my credit report?

The third-party financing sources that we work with use different credit bureaus when evaluating applications. To find appropriate financing for each applicant’s unique situation we pull credit reports from the three major credit reporting agencies; Experian, Equifax, and TransUnion. All inquiries are “hard” inquiries that result in a full credit report so that the credit history can be analyzed effectively. When applications are sent to the creditors for approval, the financing sources pull a credit report for their own credit evaluation. Applications are sent to multiple creditors to secure appropriate financing in a timely manner.
